Faux World

Quebecois ‘sound-hunter’ Galerie Stratique (Charles-Émile Beullac) initially released Faux World back in 2008. If this record reads like a fever-dream, that’s no coincidence - Faux World was inspired by a trip to Indonesia in which Beullac both immersed himself in new musical cultures and also fell rather ill. The tracks here are psychedelic sound-hazes that invoke Beullac’s mental state at the time. Think Four Tet and Jon Hassell. This new edition of Faux World has been slightly edited.

Rêves de Béton

New edition of Galerie Stratique’s 2015 album Rêves de Béton here. This chunky twin-CD set from the one born Charles-Émile Beullac finds the French-Canadian sound artist fusing musique concrete, eerie electronica, lo-fi drone and experimental loops to highly intriguing effect. Think, like, Thomas Fehlmann collaborating with Karlheinz Stockhausen. The second disc of the Rêves de Béton features forty-odd minutes of archival material.

Galerie Stratique

Galerie Stratique is the brainchild of Quebec based electronic music composer Charles-Émile Beullac and Horizzons is his 2003 masterpiece that we've kindly pressed onto vinyl for you. This, we feel, is one of the most underrated gems of early 2000s electronica  - a dream like series which compress the ideas of long form ambient into shorter, 'pop length' tracks. Its hazy, woozy sound is comparable to Boards of Canada, Plaid and Arovane.
