Siglo XX were a punk/goth group from the city with the greatest name in the world, Genk, Belgium. The band were active from 1979 to 1991 and took their influences from Joy Division and other Factory Records acts. Siglo XX were often referred to as the Belgian Joy Division due to their gloomy outlook and dark ways. They were widely regarded as the finest exponents of post-punk sub-genres such as coldwave and darkwave. The Art Of War was the third release by Belgian band Siglo XX. It was originally released in 1982. Belgian band Siglo XX took their name from a Bolivian mine which was a site of social disorder. Their home city of Genk in 1978 was rife with unemployment and all the problems that can arise from that, so the band felt the name said something about where they had come from. Their music dances along the punk/goth/coldwave/darkwave fault line and comparisons to Joy Division are often made.
