Culto Al Qondor

Very disappointed to learn that Electrcidad is not but the word for Electricity in Spanish. Why Spanish? Culto Al Qondor are the Peruvian krautrockers who just won't stop. Much like the current that drives electricity, the band are powerful, persistent and dynamic. They're big fans of the likes of Neu and Kraftwerk, and it shows.

Culto Al Qondor

After a brief stint in the mid-2000s under the name Qondor, members of Peruvian psych-rock groups La Ira de Dios and Serpentina Satelite reform as Culto al Qondor and drop an LP on Drone Rock Records (GNOB, Stupid Cosmonaut). Templos contains four lengthy exercises in drone rock (who’d have thought, eh?) and rhythm-driven psych. It’s a cut above your average delays-and-drums affair - the beat work particularly interesting, bringing to mind a  combination of Neu! and Cankun.
