Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi
Space Harrier

Back in 1985, Space Harrier hit the arcades, with a memorable Yamaha DX-7 soundtrack by Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi. Who could have predicted, back then, that vinyl would fall all the way out of favour and then right back into serious favour once again, and that these electronic miniatures would one day be presented in a deluxe format, replete with crisp artwork and liner notes? Features all the original score, plus a live band version of the Main Theme.

Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi
After Burner II

Sega’s in-house composer Hiroshi ‘Hiro’ Kawaguchi has been behind the sound of many of the video game developer’s best-loved volumes, with credits for releases in the Sonic and Dragon Ball Z series to his name. This record - out via Data Discs (who else?) - sees Kawaguchi’s score for the 1987 game After Burner II set to wax. Not only is the original music a cast-iron chiptune classic, but the release includes a second LP of bonus material and reworkings of tracks from the main soundtrack.
