Alfa Mist
Structuralism

Bloody hell just how many jazz musicians are there in London right now? Alfa Mist's is a more chilled out approach than some of his peers, letting incredibly smooth keys provide the bedroom for for some delightfully relaxed improvisations. Named for the methodology with which it shares a name, Structuralism is as cerebral as you need it to be. On Sekito.

Alfa Mist
Antiphon

After causing a quiet stir when it dropped online back in March 2017, Alfa Mist’s new-jazz odyssey has been snapped up by Black Acre for a vinyl release. This is mightily soulful offering from yet another of those hip young London beatniks. There’s plenty of neo-soul and hip-hop influence here, but the grace and chops of Mist and his band sets this LP a class apart. Try if you’ve liked recent drops from Ezra Collective, Zara McFarlane and Onyx Collective.
