Jan Borré
Grayson

Belgian composer Jan Borré generally works with electronic music and has the odd film score to his name. Most notably, perhaps, the British / Belgian horror flick, Where The Skin Lies. For his latest work, he has crafted a bunch of synthesizer-based instrumentals, synthstrumentals if you will, for his album, Grayson. This is not a soundtrack, but it is connected to the world of film and TV as it’s inspired by Star Trek, and specifically Spock’s mother, Amanda Grayson. It explores feelings of detachment and loneliness.

Where The Skin Lies (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Check the cover art and you’ll get a sense of the kind of gnarly film that Mr Jan Borré has been tasked with soundtracking here. Where The Skin Lies is a classic-style horror, and Borré’s soundtrack rises to the challenge with synths and strings brooding away on some atmospheric melodies. Also, a proper 80’s style synth ballad that plays diegetically in the film. Cassette on Spun Out Of Control.
