Gang Starr
Step In The Arena

Extremely classic hip-hop here in the form of Gang Starr’s 1991 second album Step In The Arena. If you know if from back in the day you know how vital a piece of the puzzle this is, and if you don’t know it yet, count yourself lucky to have found this reissue now. Inventive samples, perfect beats and classic flows: yum yum. Reissued on Urban Legends.

2018 marks a quarter-century since the drop of Guru’s groundbreaking Jazzmatazz, Volume 1. With the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Ghostface Killah making great records with a live jazz group in recent years, this re-pressing of the late Gang Starr MC’s 1993 masterpiece feels more timely than ever. A direct line can be drawn between this LP and the likes of Madlib’s Shades of Blue. A heavyweight features list includes MC Solaar, Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis and more. This reissue comes on blue vinyl.
