He recorded with Fontana from the early sixties until shortly before his death in 1973. The Fontana Albums (1961-1969) is a numbered limited edition 11 LP box set pressed on 180g vinyl with original artwork (except LP 2),

Tubby Hayes Quartet
The Syndicate: Live At The Hopbine 1968 Vol. 1

Repress and first ever CD release of this 1986 Tubby Hayes Quartet performance. Disappointingly Tubby is not a tuba or a tuba player, but a sax player. This is very, very fast jazz, with the star of the show being Hayes's remarkable drummer who manages to maintain a precision and delicacy for its entire length.

The Tubby Hayes Quintet
Modes and Blues: 8th February 1964

Despite his death in 1973 at the age of just 38, tenor saxophonist Tubby Hayes is still considered to be one of the greatest jazz players the UK has produced. This LP, recorded during the band’s Ronnie Scott’s residency in 1964, makes a good show of Hayes and his quartet’s showstopping take on modernism and post-bop.
