Hollywood Ending

L.A well-to-do's Starcrawler release a brand new single with (thankfully) no songs taken from their earlier self titled debut.  They've upped the ante, poured even more money into it and have come up with something the press release describes excitedly as a 'bold but winsome pop jam'. Rough Trade have pinned their flag to this lots mast so we'll soon see whether it proves fruitful.

I Love LA

LA rockers Starcrawler were lucky enough to have their forthcoming debut album produced by alt. Country superstar Ryan Adams. I Love LA is the second single to be lifted from it and is the follow up to debut single Ants. The band formed after high school buddies Arrow De Wilde (voclas) and Henri Cash (guitar) searched Hollywood for a rhythm section, finding bass player Tim Franco and drummer Austin Smith. Limited edition 7” on Rough Trade.

I’m not quite sure how a band who formed at a high school have ended up recording with Ryan Adams and being released on Rough Trade within two years (though my guess would be family money and some industry connections), but there we go. Starcrawler are just such a band, and their high-energy youthful rock debut is now available from Rough Trade.

Los Angeles based four-piece Starcrawler are some youngsters re-igniting rock and roll i a way that Joey Ramone would have approved of. Ants is their debut single, out via Rough Trade and clocking in at under two minutes it it invokes the spirit of The Cramps, The Runaways, and New York Dolls. Backed with Used to know.
