Green River
Rehab Doll

Mark Arm? Stone Gossard? Jeff Ament? Mudhoney? Pearl Jam? You love those bands, right? Well this is where it all started, Rehab Doll, the first and only full length LP by Seattle’s Green River. (It actually started with an EP and a mini LP shortly before this, but y’know what I mean.) The band featured all the above people and some other guys. You know what happened in Seattle and the music world after this, but check out what was the nascent Seattle music scene by buying this LP, or CD on Sub Pop.

Green River / U-Men
Away In A Manger / Blue Christmas

Green River, the ‘80s Sub Pop band featured Mark Arm and Steve Turner who would go on to form Mudhoney and Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament who would later appear as part of Pearl Jam. U-Men were also a Seattle band with links to Gas Huffer and Monkeywrench. Each band recorded a Christmas song and it seemed neither would fit on any of the band’s albums. So here we have two pariahs consciously coupled on a 7” single: Green River’s Away In A Manger and U-Men’s version of Blue Christmas. Limited Edition 7” Single on Sub Pop

Green River
Come On Down

Green River’s Come On Down is a piece of history, being one of the first ever releases on the noted Grunge Records label. Released in 1985, this record features two of the guys from Mudhoney and two Pearl Jam lads, making it crucial listening for fans of either band, as well as a top slice of early sludgy alternative rock music. Now reissued by the Jackpot label, with a bonus track to boot.
