GAIKA
BASIC VOLUME

Gaika has been threatening a masterpiece for a while now. In his debut LP BASIC VOLUME he might just have made it. Over the fifteen tracks here he weaves together far-flung musical legacies - D’Angelo, Future, Popcaan and Arca are all discernable influences - into a record of dark potency. Dre Skull, Sophie and Jam City are among an impressive list of co-producers.

GAIKA
The Spectacular Empire II

A sequel to, you guessed it, The Spectacular Empire I, sees a continuation of GAIKA's slightly twisted but significantly affecting electronic outings. As another part of the story of empowerment in authoritarian chaos, it succeeds heavily; as an essential addition to the darker end of your record box, same.

GAIKA
The Spectacular Empire I

Gaika continues his stay with the legendary Warp Records with a synth and sample heavy trudge through dystopian soundscapes and pulsing beats. The fuzz clears to make way for vocals to swerve in, but the overall dark atmosphere remains throughout. Deep stuff from a torchbearer of political electronic music.

GAIKA
Spaghetto

Warp records wasted no time snapping up Brixton producer Gaika after his self released Machine and Mixpak released Security. Grime is a forward looking genre and Gaika takes this and runs with it. Incorporating dancehall and pure soul into the mix, a must watch artist for fans of Dean Blunt, Vybz Kartel et al.
