An indies-only 7” by South London up-and-comers Goat Girl here. ‘The Man’ will appear on their self-titled debut LP, and the track is a good line in the sand for the group. Displaying a similarly sprightly energy to fellow London buzz bands Shame and The Big Moon, the band’s ace up the sleeve are some great droning harmonies that bring to mind the choruses on The Velvet Underground and Nico.
Goat Girl are one of a number of bands in South London who are currently enjoying a bit of the limelight. Contemporaries such as the recently lauded Shame along with Madonnatron, Bat-bike, Horsey and Sorry help each other out with gigs and such. Goat Girl’s eponymous debut sees them blast through 19 tracks in 40 minutes, aided and abetted by producer of note Dan Carey (Bat For Lashes, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand). The result is a melting pot of myriad influences from The Kinks to The Slits to Krautrock.

It's the brand new single from Goat Girl, Crow Cries. Even though all four of the band's members are now at the grand old age of 20, their youth is revealed by a furious sound representative of the geopolitical climate in Britain today. Fresh and vital-sounding post-millennial pop, speaking of a generation and those to follow. Limited 7" single on Rough Trade.
Sort of Christmas-related (presumably 'Cracker Drool' is the slaver that comes out your mouth when pulling.... No?) single from the already much loved newbies Goat Girl. This one has been produced by Dan Carey (Bat For Lashes/Kate Tempest) and is the third single from this group of very young people.
Country Sleaze and Scum are two of the debut tracks by London based quartet, Goat Girl. This first instalment is a great addition to the English rock/punk scene that packs groggy baselines alongside lyrics that offer a genuine and uncensored critique of the human race at the moment. Released on vinyl 7”.
