Carl Stone
Electronic Music from the Eighties and Nineties

Yes yes yes yes. If you didn't hear the last Carl Stone retrospective -- the monolithic and gorgeously packaged Electronic Music from the Seventies and Eighties -- rectify that now. An Aaron Dilloway for the Baby Boomer generation, Stone was known for making unforgiving loop music, taking snippets of sound and slowly replacing their initial meanings with new ones through longform repetition. Where the last reissue of his work showed his often maddening approach, Electronic Music from the Eighties and Nineties is calming and balmy, Stone approaching his music in a newfound meditative state.

Realistic Monk (Carl Stone & Miki Yui)
Realm

Fresh from his recent exciting archival release and her very fine Cuspeditions album, Carl Stone and Miki Yui present their collaborative work together under the name Realistic Monk. Their first ‘studio’ recording, Realm is a set of relatively concise pieces, blending an array of micro-edited samples and other electronics into beguiling and lovely structures. Released by Meakusma.

Carl Stone
Electronic Music from the Seventies and Eighties

Minimalist electronic collages made by Carl Stone betweens the 70s and 80s. Before he decided to manipulate everything through a laptop Stone used turntables and captured micro loops of disparate electronic sound sources, pushing them together into these huge, yet minimal tonal experiments. With notes from Carl Stone, and exclusive digital only track.
