Helios
Veriditas

Keith Kenniff returns under his Helios alias to bestow upon us a new album of ambient electronica. His modus operandi -- to work quietly, in the suburbs in the dead of night -- is reflected in the simple, serene calm of his music. It's a method that has served Kenniff well over the last decade or so of production; unhurried, using just the one mini-cassette tape machine for recording. Kenniff subscribes to Hildegard von Bingen's belief in "the greening power of the divine," and it shows in his soothing and centring work. Veriditas is a CD / LP on Ghostly.

Goldmund
Sometimes

Goldmund, aka Keith Kenniff has apparently had great success squeezing his music into films and adverts and such, which makes sense in some ways: he writes very elegant, dramatic piano music. But also, most of Sometimes is just as dark as the sleeve art suggests: I can’t imagine many of these tracks making me want to buy any lifestyle accessories. On Western Vinyl.

Goldmund
Occasus

Goldmund’s oft-copied piano-ambient sound is rarely rendered as purely or as cleanly by his many imitators. Occasus is another LP from the Pennsylvania composer that demonstrates his composition prowess and clarity of vision. Similarly to Hauschka and Ryuichi Sakamoto, this is light and beautiful music.
