Goldfrapp
Supernature

Supernature was the third album from London electronic music duo Goldfrapp. It carried on from 2003's Black Cherry in introducing glam rock and pulsating electronics into their previously folk-based sound palette. It was led by the single Ooh La La which went straight to number 4 in the hit parade introducing the band to an even wider audience. This new edition comes on transparent green vinyl in gatefold sleeve and with an exclusive art print of the original artwork.

Goldfrapp
Silver Eye

Seemingly content to veer between dark electro-pop and dark cinematic folk it looks like Goldfrapp have swayed back towards the electronic side of things with this their 7th album. Looks like they've gone for a star studded cast this time round with St Vincent, John Grant, Wild Beasts, The Haxan Cloak and the ubiquitous John Congleton all lending a hand

Goldfrapp
Felt Mountain

Back in the year 2000 the 11th day in September was largely free of historial resonance - that is, for those of us who weren’t still choked up about the defeat of the Roman Empire at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9AD. Who knows, if things haven't gone the way that they did then the date may forever have been associated with the release of Goldfrapp’s debut LP ‘Felt Mountain’. An album at once in and out of time, ‘Felt Mountain’ put a sort of chic 60s spin on the valium-hazed chansons of Stereolab and Saint Etienne. The record still sounds good nowadays, which is probably the reason that Mute Records have decided to reissue it.

Goldfrapp
Head First

Never short of an innuendo, Goldfrapp’s fifth LP ‘Head First’ (indeed) is as fine a demonstration of their singular appeal as anything else in their pretty-damn-distinguished discography. Once more, this is a set of chic retro-chansons given a hypnagogic sheen by Will Gregory’s synths and Alison Goldfrapp’s sultry, quietly commanding performance up front, though the 80s flavour - Yazoo etc - is stronger here than on previous albums. 'Head First' is T-Rex as reimagined by Nouvelle Vague, but also better than that would be.

Black Cherry

Out of print for years, here is a vinyl re-issue of Goldfrapp's 2003 album Black Cherry. On purple coloured vinyl (though they missed a trick not calling it black cherry coloured), you also get a 12 x 12 art print for your troubles. Black Cherry was Goldfrapp's second album following on from the very successful Felt Mountain and adds in synth-pop and glam influences into their luxury brand of electronic pop.
