Sarah Louise
Nighttime Birds and Morning Stars

Nighttime Birds and Morning Stars is the latest Sarah Louise's forays to the limits of solo guitar playing. She has always used her virtuosity to create unsettling folk instrumentals and this album is no different. This time however she does a bit of digital manipulation to push even further and harder than before. Unique and terrifying. On Thrill Jockey.

Sarah Louise
Deeper Woods

Spiritual Jazz, drone, minimalist musician, House And Land member and Pitchfork favourite, Sarah Louise uses her Thrill Jockey debut as the platform to showcase her vocal talents for the first time, accompanying her 12-string acoustic guitar to create a haunting folk record. Deeper Woods features guest performances from bandmate Sally Anne Morgan, who has also worked with Steve Gunn, drummer Thomas Nguyen and Jason Meagher. Limited edition coloured vinyl LP, standard black vinyl LP and CD on Thrill Jockey.

Sarah Louise
Field Guide

Long and awaited is this reissue of Sarah Louise's wonderful Field Guide, an appropriately named and artwork-adorned record of leafy guitar explorations. Using her twelve-string as its driving force, the record is an evocative tone poem for Louise's home of North Carolina, inspired by hymnal Appalachian music but sounding new in its own right.

Lorelle Meets The Obsolete
Balance

Guadalajaran kraut/psyche-rock duo Lorelle Meets The Obsolete manage to blow some of the cobwebs away, re-energise and bring grit back to the genre with Balance, literally. La Distinción sonically paints a world where Tarantino directed Austin Powers with big band psychedelic groove meeting mexican stand-off like tension.

Sarah Louise
Solo Acoustic Vol. 12

The Vin Du Select Qualitite label’s Solo Acoustic series continues to showcase the inventive talents of fine guitarists. Their next batch of limited edition LPs has now arrived! Volume 12 features Sarah Louise, making her first appearance on vinyl as it happens. Her style melds classic American Appalachian guitar with some modern tricks: sounds wonderful.
