Junkie XL Vinyl, CD & tapes by Junkie XL at Norman Records

Created by DJ and producer Tom Holkenborg - also known as Junkie XL - is the soundtrack to new series White Lines, released on Mediterranean Blue-coloured double vinyl. A mix of chilled-out lounge and dancefloor-orientated club tracks, Holkenborg provides an exceptional backdrop to the story of a legendary DJ whose body is discovered 20 years on from his disappearance from Ibiza. 

The soundtrack to George Miller’s post-apocalyptic 2015 masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road, composed by Dutch producer Tom Holkenborg (a.k.a. Junkie XL) gets a re-issue, on special ‘Blood & Fire’ and ‘Sand & Water’ coloured vinyls with a die-cut slip cover containing two interchangeable inserts courtesy of artist Boneface. With over 200 instruments used in the conjuring of vast, menacing soundscapes, it’s one of the great film scores of modern times. 

Dutch composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Tom Holkenborg has been tasked with scoring Sonic The Hedgehog. You may know Mr. Holkenborg as Junkie XL or JXL under which names he’s put out a number of trance, electronica and big beat records. He is no stranger to film scores however, having scored films such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v Superman, Alita: Battle Angel, among others. This score matches the pace of the action-packed movie perfectly.

Tom Holkenborg composed the score to Terminator: Dark Fate. You may know the Dutch composer from his soundtrack to Mad Max: Fury Road or his work under the alias Junkie XL. Holkenborg has an uncanny knack of scoring action, so he’s the ideal man for this. He also manages to doff his cap to Brad Fiedel who scored the first two Terminator movies. 

A little less conversation, please: the Junkie who famously remixed Elvis has done a soundtrack. Not just any old soundtrack, either; Tom Holkenborg AKA Junkie XL has made the soundtrack to the (Original Motion Picture) 'Tomb Raider'. The aforementioned, Grammy-nominated one has been let off the lead to score Lara Croft's adventures afresh, resulting in a new vitality and urgency to the character. This release follows Tom's work on the impressive and top-selling Batman v. Superman film, so this is eagerly anticipated stuff. 

Dutch multi-instrumentalist and composer Tom Holkenborg AKA Junkie XL, who cut his teeth in groups such as A Forest Called Mulu, Empyrean Dub, and Mambo Jambo went on to soundtrack films including Black Mass, Batman Vs. Superman, Deadpool and Mad Max: Fury Road. His latest is for the adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower. Intense stuff.

Honestly thought that this was a soundtrack release for some Beach Boys-themed action flick. With OST credits such as Deadpool, Mad Max Fury Road and Batman vs Superman, it's easy to forget sometimes that Junkie XL makes standard music too. Here, he combines old-style analog synth sounds with surf guitar, recalling the sounds of Suzanne Ciani and SURVIVE's Stranger Things score.

Latest super-action blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road has been smashing its way into cinemas of late, with a suitably big, brash, and, to be fair, inventive soundtrack from Junkie XL, who feels serious enough here to use his birth name: Tom Holkenberg.
