Run-DMC
King Of Rock

The follow-up which arrived less than 12 months after their ground-breaking self-titled debut, 1985’s King of Rock comprehensively proved that Run-DMC were here to stay, and so was hip-hop. The eponymous lead single ‘King of Rock’ may be the tentpole of the album, but the other eight tracks are fleet-footed demonstrations of tag-team vocals and rough-hewn beats.

Run-DMC
Raising Hell (picture disc)

Raising Hell is thirty years old. It was the third album by New York hip-hop trio Run DMC. The album was a commercial breakthrough, not only for Run DMC, but for hip hop in general. It contains some of Run DMC’s best known singles: Walk This Way, My Adidas and It’s Tricky. Pressed on to 150gm picture disc.

Ray Parker Jr. / Run DMC
Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Edition

This is what it has all come down to. A very limited edition version of the 'Ghostbusters' theme. Two tracks on the A side: Parker Jr's original and Run DMC's rap. B side is smooth white. The jacket is marshmallow scented. Once upon a time I had high hopes of making a difference to the world. Today I sit alone, trying desperately to flog a marshmallow scented 12" of the 'Ghostbusters' theme. Funny how things turn out isn't it?

Run-DMC
Raising Hell

Reissue of Run-DMC’s classic album Raising Hell from 1986. Includes huge classic tracks It’s Tricky, You Be Illin’ and Walk This Way, but the whole album is a stone cold killer and is a key player in breaking hip hop into the mainstream. Co-Produced by the legendary Rick Rubin. Vinyl from Get On Down.

Run-DMC
Tougher Than Leather

The fourth album by Run-DMC gets a nice new re-pressing for 2017. Tougher Than Leather, first released in 1988, has a couple of the gang’s big tunes on it (‘Run’s House’, ‘Mary, Mary’), plus a particularly rich flurry of sampladelic turntablism from Jam-Master Jay. Vinyl reissue on Get On Down.

Run-DMC

Run-DMC’s self-titled debut album is a no-messing hip-hop classic. Released in 1984, there is not an inch of fat on this record, just sparse and direct drum machine beats and bold Queens flows, plus subtle scratching and sampling from Jam Master Jay. Need we say more? Reissued on vinyl by the Get On Down label.

Run-DMC
Christmas In Hollis / Peter Piper

Very limited 12” vinyl picture disc of Run DMC’s 1987 Christmas tunes Christmas In Hollis and Peter Piper on Legacy. Despite what you may think about a 1987 Run DMC Christmas song, both these tracks are great, mixing killer scratching over traditional songs, heavy sleigh bell percussion and plenty of amazing lines from the band.
