Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost: Part 2

The days when Foals made the sort of short-circuiting post-punk that had them briefly touted as a math-rock band are long gone. As anyone who’s checked in with the group’s last few records can attest, Yannis et al now deal in a brand of meaty stadium-rock that comes off like an art-school version of Rage Against The Machine. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost: Part 2, the companion piece to the Part 1 that was released earlier this year, continues to lean into this sound.

Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1

Oxford's second biggest band return with more stadium-sized teeth gnashing. It's part one of a two part extravaganza of new music that is said to be their most ambitious work yet with prog structures ambient interludes, the kitchen sink and lots of pontificating on the state of the world. You'll get this one first then once you've recovered, part 2 will follow later in the year.

Rain / Daffodils

Tween math rockers Foals have slowly gravitated away from their initial sound towards a skewed but monolithic arena rock, afforded to only a select amount of alternative acts. Here, for your aural perusal, is a 7" containing their track "Rain", plus a cover of a number by big bucks producer Mark Ronson, entitled "Daffodils". It's always, as they say, a good time.

What Went Down

Oh look, a new Foals album! This is the first we’ve heard from Foals since 2013, when their last full length, Holy Fire, was released. What Went Down lavishes us with ten tracks, and is available as LP, CD, or in a deluxe edition paired with a DVD containing enigmatic ‘additional video content’. Mmmmm, content. On Warners.

Holy Fire / Live At The Royal Albert Hall

The ever evolving Oxfordian quintet decided to accompany the release of their third studio album, Holy Fire, with a CD and DVD recording of their live performance at The Royal Albert Hall. For any Foals fan, this is a must. See the trailer.
