Fink Vinyl, CD & tapes from this artist at Norman Records
The long-awaited release from Fink comes in the form of Resurgam. UK born but Berlin based band Fink give a much more mature and relaxed sound to this record, that must surely take some influence from the likes of Newton Faulkner and even Radiohead. This record is available on Double LP and CD and released on 'R'COUP'D'.
- Vinyl Double LP (RCPD015)
Fin Greenall, better known as Fink is well known for his rich, blues influenced acoustic music with and electronica backbone. Fink’s Sunday Night Blues Club is his first outing with a purely blues motive. Treating it as a side project separate to his usual output it strips away the electronica gimmickry and leaves a man alone with his guitar and his voice.
Fall into the Light / Pilgrim by Fink sees two of the band’s tracks given radically different treatment. Fall into the Light is stripped back to it’s bare bones by resident DJ of Berlin’s Panorama Club Margaret Dygas. On the flip, Paula Temple, who curated the Noise Manifesto, recreates Pilgrim two ways: firstly, turning it into a dancefloor bomb and secondly with an enthralling ambient take. The original version of each track were on Fink’s 2015 Horizontalism album.
He with fingers in many pies, from soundtracks to orchestral works, Fink a.k.a Fin Greenall returns with a re-imagining of Hard Believer. Horizontalism is an altogether darker affair pulling no punches in its search for eerie atmospheres. Out on CD and vinyl LP from Ninja Tune imprint R’Coup’D.
This is what happens when a DJ/producer successfully jumps the chasm to singer-songwriterism. Fink’s newest album is filled with well-considered and obviously mintly produced songs. Hard Believer is the next in Fin Greenall’s oblique journey through the musical lands, and this is your chance to join him and maybe see where he’s headed.
