Dwight Yoakam
Population Me

Population Me is the second of country / bluegrass pioneer Dwight Yoakam's early 2000's work to get the vinyl re-issue treatment following on from his compilation set Dwight's Used Records. It sees the artist explore a wider range of sounds than his earlier work and contains three cover tracks including a bluegrass rendition of Burt Bacharach's Trans and Boats and Planes.

Dwight Yoakam
Dwight's Used Records

Perma-hatted country pioneer Dwight Yoakam is getting some of his early 2000s era records remastered for vinyl one of which is Dwight's Used Records. The title sort of explains it in that it contains tracks that Dwight released on compilations or on other artists albums. Remarkably the set stands up as a coherent release showcasing the rootsy sound that is at the heart of all he does.

Dwight Yoakam
Blame the Vain

Dwight Yoakam walks that ever so thin line between mainstream country and cool, acceptable alt. Country. He also owns a biscuit brand, which may help him being perceived as cool. His highly regarded 2005 album, Blame The Vain is turning 15, so is getting pressed on vinyl for the first time. I’m guessing he’s hoping to get more of a foot into the alt. Country camp too.

Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day

Since when have we sold Dwight Yoakam records? Since Jack White told us we had to seemingly. Here is the legendary honky tonk country singer as produced by Jack White bashing out a couple of spritely covers namely 'Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day' (made famous by the Monkees) and 'High on the Mountain of Love' (made 'famous' by Kenny Lynch).
