Joep Beving
Henosis

Deutsche Grammophon release the third in Joep Beving's personal trilogy. Henosis is a fantastically start example of minimalism. Its heart is found in the piano Beving uses, originally his grandmother's. This makes for a record that is resonant both in the literal sense, and in the emotional one. For the first time though, Beving is not completely alone.

Joep Beving
Conatus

Conatus: in which Joep Beving hands over pieces of his contemporary classical music to various artists for reworking. With Deutsche Grammophon as the label, and a list of contributing artists that includes Suzanne Ciani(!), you won’t be surprised to hear that the quality of Conatus’s material is very high indeed.

Joep Beving
Solipsism

Joep Beving composes and performs pieces for piano with a delicacy and a sense of stateliness that puts him right in there with the likes of Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds. Solipsism, his debut, was recorded in the middle of the night for extra depth of feeling: this is neo-classical piano of the most relaxing sort. Originally released on On I Are Giant and now reissued by Deutsche Grammophon.

Joep Beving
Prehension

Joep Beving is a Dutch composer and performer who uses his piano to tap a direct line to the kind of stately cinematic neo-classical musical atmospheres so majorly popularised by the likes of Nils Frahm, Ludovico Einaudi and the like. Prehension, his first album for the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon, is released in CD and double LP editions.
