Carla dal Forno
Look Up Sharp

Australian singer/songwriter Carla Dal Forno has often been compared to Nico for her vocal sound and delivery. Her music can be described as dream pop with a DIY aesthetic, but there's all sorts going on. Look Up Sharp is her second album and follow-up to You Know What It’s Like. This time she’s releasing it on her own label, Kallista.

So Much Better

Australian singer/songwriter Carla dal Forno makes spooky, spacious music with a voice reminiscent of Nico. Following her atmospheric masterpiece You Know What It’s Like on Blackest Ever Black in 2016 she has released a couple of EPs. Now she has set up her own label, Kallista, for a new 7”, So Much Better.

The Garden

Following on from her excellent LP of sonic gothic architecture for Blackest Ever Black, Carla dal Forno returns with a 12" of dubby introspections. Haunted hallways and sonorous drone pop are to be expected on this You Know What It's Like sequel, with a song tributing the great industrial weirdings of Einsturzende Neubauten.

Top Of The Pops

Originally released this Spring, here is a further pressing of Carla Dal Forno's album of covers entitled Top of the Pops. I'm not sure if Liliput were ever on Top of the Pops but they are here alongside the Fates, Renee and the B52s (who have definitely been on Top of the Pops.  Six interpretations showcasing Dal Forno's minimalist post punk stylings.

Awkwardly Blissing Out

Quick reminder: Blackest Ever Black request you spend one night in a haunted house before you receive your purchase of any of their records. This newie from F ingers was spooked up with recording help from Samuel Karmel, Carla dal Forno and Tarquin Manek, and offers strands of dubbed and psychedelic soundscaping. A potential gothic flick for when you're feeling all too relaxed.

Carla dal Forno
You Know What It’s Like

Carla dal Forno, who has previously been active in Tarcar and Mole House, has a thickly melancholy singing style that somewhat recalls Nico. Solo debut You Know What It’s Like is an album of highly personal songs, but, because this is out on Blackest Ever Black, it naturally also has a good deal of heavy electronic weight to it. A super-atmospheric record.

Fast Moving Cars

Carla dal Forno (of Tarcar) makes her first ever solo release with this here 7” on Blackest Ever Black. Fast Moving Cars presents a pair of songs, each of which locates dal Forno’s voice in the centre of dark and sparse soundscape: she sounds at once stranded and in total control of the wispy sonics around her. 7” single.
