Tongue is the fourth LP by Los Angeles-based Anenon (or Brian Allen Simon to his landlord). Thanks to a press release the length of War and Peace, I’ve learned that it was recorded in Tuscany on a disenchanted break away from Trump’s America. It finds our man Brian lining up lots of tinkling piano arpeggios with warm synth drones, as well as having a good soft toot or two on the saxophone for good measure. That’ll show Donald!
Anenon is the project of Brian Allen Simon, in which he keenly explores the crossover points between improvisational jazz and electronic sound. Petrol, which was improvised with assistance from Jon-Kyle Mohr, is themed around the city of Los Angeles, and is consequently quite busy-sounding, arpeggiating all over the shop. LP release on Friends of Friends.
