Maja S. K. Ratkje

For Sult, Norway's finest Maja S. K. Ratke cast aside her usual collection of materials and techniques, and picked up a unique, specially-modified pump organ, which she figured out how to play while she played it as accompaniment to a ballet adaptation of Knut Hamsun’s Hunger. Fabulous sound exploration with a very fresh edge. On Rune Grammofon.

Maja S. K. Ratkje
Crepuscular Hour

Super-skilled Norwegian polymath Maja S. K. Ratkje has worked across genres, in her group SPUNK and in collaborations with the likes of Ikue Mori and Stephen O’Malley. For Crepuscular Hour, she assembled three full choirs and three pairings of noise musicians in a space with a church organ. Imagine how remarkable that must sound! Well imagine no more, it’s here. Vinyl and CD versions are both packed with a DVD of a live performance.
