Soundtrack To An Empty Room

Charles Moothart, multi-instrumentalist and a sometime collaborator with Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin, revives his CFM moniker for a third studio album. Harder-edged than before, Soundtrack To An Empty Room shows an artist who’s just as at ease creating by himself as he is in collaboration with others.

Dichotomy Desaturated

CFM is the solo rockin’ out project of Charles Moothart, an associate of both Mikal Cronin and Ty Segall, putting him right in the middle of a whirlwind of garage-psych quality. Dichotomy Desaturated is his second solo album, and it sounds like the realisation of a stack of guitar fantasies. Good guitar fun on In The Red.

Homegrown Paranoia

CFM is Charles Francis Moothart, and CFM is a fire-spitting garage-psych band project with a new 7” out now. Homegrown Paranoia’s three tracks feel like they are perpetually accelerating, but the band still holds their tunes together under the carpet of tasty fuzz that covers the sound. A blasted-up good time record on In The Red.

Still Life of Citrus & Slime

The initials CFM stand for Charles Francis Moothart, a veteran of bands including The Moonhearts, The Epsilons and The Ty Segall band. But this is the first time his considerable skills (for instance, he played different instruments in all those bands) have been deployed solo. Still Life of Citrus & Slime is a very personal set of garage-rock / indie-pop from someone who knows the sound inside out. On In The Red.
