Tarzana Vinyl, CD & tapes by Tarzana at Norman Records
Tarzana is a fresh and unanticipated collaboration between Finland’s-finest Jan Anderzen and former Skaters dude Spencer Clark. Alien Wildlife Estate’s album and track titles ought to signpost the vibes going on here: super-synthetic weirdo textures that prove oddly compelling. Other-world soundscapes on Pacific City Sound Visions.
Spencer Clark puts his The Skaters and Tarzana collabs on hold to revisit his Typhonian Highlife project to squanch some sounds from the 'World of Shells', using synth-drenched ambient tools to conjure up images of beaches, palm trees, sunbathers and donkeys, all made from shells of course. Melodic and experimental synth music if it stayed well away from temperate climates.
Former half of The Skaters, alongside James Ferraro - Spencer Clark (Fourth World Magazine, Monopoly Child Star Searchers, Vodka Soap, Black Joker etc.) appears to have taken cassette-captured field recordings of Australia and transmuted them into the kind of new-agey digital ambience that he so excels in. Strange atmospheres all round. The Stimulated Australia is a vinyl release from Edicoes CN, limited to 210 copies.
