Tross Vinyl, CD & tapes by Tross at Norman Records
Swedish astral travellers Hoga Nord Rekords have put out some neat wax over the past few years. Their journey into the cosmic groove continues with this full-length from Tross. The ten tracks on The Overview Effect are cut from the same cloth as recent HN releases by Mythologen and Andrew Weatherall. Merging kosmische, Krautrock, bongo beats and psychedelic disco, it proves a fine record to lose yourself in.
Tross is a project of former Spacemen 3 bassist Pete Bain, who has also gone under the name of Pete Bassman. True to his personal heritage, The Walrus EP is a on tripped-out, spaced-up psychedelic vibe, chugging onwards into the rainbow infinity. Pressed to picture disc (yes, with that image) on Hoga Nord.
A bit of Swedish krautrock to stick in your pipe and inhale, Coast To Coast is the new EP from Tross. Released on Glasgow’s Invisible Inc label, it’s a special kind of psych, conducted with a rare and ancient skill that’s hypnotic in its repetitive kosmicheness. Out on vinyl 12” from Invisible, Inc.
