Gnoomes Vinyl, CD & tapes by Gnoomes at Norman Records

Show page list »

Third studio album from Russian psychedelic pop outfit Gnoomes, a newly expanded quartet thanks to the addition of Masha Piankova on synths. Trailed by wonderful lead single ‘Sword In The Stone’, MU! aims to capture the pulsating sonic assaults of the group’s live shows, following the huge success of their recent European tours.

Russian psych rockers Gnoomes had access to a bank of presumably indestructible vintage Russian synths when making this record. Experimenting with these beasts has allowed them to marry their stargazing pulsating kraut rock with the sort of brave new world synth exploration found in the back tunnels of the War records back catalogue.

Gnoomes hail from far Russia, in a region previously used as a place of exile. Isolation can be a bad thing, but it can also bring people closer (and allow them to make loud noises without complaints). Hence, Gnoomes, who are a close-knit space-rock band devoted to transcending through gorgeous musical sprawl. Debut on Rocket Recordings.

Josefin Ohrn + The Liberation / Gnoomes
Repetitions EP

This is a split EP between Russian band Gnoomes and Swedish group Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation. Both are clearly in love with electronic takes on the motorik vibes of krautrock, as pulsing rhythms and Repetitions are at the core of the music here. The bands also remix each other here. 12” on Rocket Recordings.
