Small Mercies

Pixx AKA Hannah Rodgers wants to talk about love. Not in the way you might expect though. She wants to talk about how we see ourselves, religion, the problems it may cause and the environment. Small Mercies is her second album and platform for this talk. It was produced by Simon Byrt and popular South London indie producer Dan Carey. It is the follow-up the rather good The Age Of Anxiety. LP and CD on 4AD

Age of Anxiety

Debut album released by 4AD. Put this one in your bag with Fever Ray, Grimes, FKA Twigs, Youth Lagoon, and maybe Sonic Youth. Dusty and warbled near psychedelic electronic production have a post punk charge, a dash of krautrock, and a message of self identity and substance. Empowering, meticulous, as well as damn good fun.

Fall In EP

This is the very first release from Pixx, a new artist from the countryside that borders London’s sprawl. She is both a soulful singer-songwriter and a canny electronic producer, and the Fall In EP shows that she can merge those two practices together very well indeed. She’ll go far. Debut 12” record on 4AD.
