Ossia
Devil’s Dance

Absolutely flattening dub from Young Echo's Ossia. Well I say dub, Devil's Dance also brings in elements of techno, industrial and EBM which all adds up to something positively evil. Throw in some violin, sax and vocals and well, you've something not like much else. I reckon The Bug's Kevin Martin will like this a lot. On Blackest Ever Black.

Andy Mac & Ossia
Soup Riddim / Cado / Linguine Loop

A fine drop of pillow-talk dancehall from this Bristolian pair. ‘Soup Riddim’ coos softly in a manner not dissimilar to Rider Shafique’s excellent ‘Lion’. With its woozy synths and played-down-a-well percussion, ‘Cado’ scuttles to the corners of the Idle Hands sound - not a surprise given that Andy Mac has released twice on the label in 2017. ‘Linguine Loop’, a near-nine-minute excursion into drone and electro-acousticism, is the curveball.

Ossia
Gridlock EP

Ossia of the Bristol based Young Echo collective has had releases on Blackest Ever Black and Empty Head Rich Heart. Now on his second 12” for Berceuse Heroique, Gridlock’s Tumult is a stark, percussion led, breakbeat techno track with the bare minimum filtered noises pulsing through. Comes backed with a remix from Lurka.

Killawatt
Fazed EP

Dark and dystopian techno with a clean industrial edge. Fazed is a straight hitter from a bladerunner factory, Livewire is a minimal machine stuck in a clattering loop and Okinawa is a sense shocking percussion and metal scraping flurry. With two remixes of Livewire, Sergie Rezza turning it into a hard hitting club track and Ossia turning into a halftime stepper shuffle.

Ossia
Red X

A member of the critically acclaimed Young Echo collective, Ossia is now breaking out under his own name, presenting a platter that is half noise-blasted techno and half abstracted spooky delay-scapes. Red X is a proper hard-hitter, ready to wear you down with the A side and remove your ability to stand again with the B side. On Blackest Ever Black.
