Girl Band
Shoulderblades

Girl Band are part of that esteemed pantheon of musicians who contrary to their name, feature no girls. They are defintiely a band mind, quite a loud one too. Years ago they burst onto my radar with an inexplicable of Blawan's 'Why They Hide..' that left me winded for weeks. Shoulderblades anticipates their second album and is a noisy old affair.

Girl Band
Paul

Girl Band (who are a band but are not girls) recently released their debut full-length, Holding Hands With Jamie. Taken from it is this new single, simply titled Paul. A grinding, seething bassline pulls along the group’s angst, building up to a pretty furious crescendo. The B-side, ‘The Wrath Of Nick Berry’, is exclusive to the 12”. On Rough Trade.

Girl Band
Pears For Lunch

Girl Band (who are a band but are not girls) recently released their debut full-length, Holding Hands With Jamie. Taken from it is this new single, Pears For Lunch, which is presented on a single sided 7” (the other side contains an etching of the drummer’s head). All copies have been hand-assembled and number-stamped by the band themselves. On Rough Trade.

Girl Band
Holding Hands With Jamie

Debut album time! Here’s Holding Hands with Jamie by Girl Band. Annoyingly enough, Girl Band are actually four Irish blokes. Probably irony or something. Still, they produce some raw, energetic noisy rock and post-punk which fits in nicely with the Rough Trade label they landed with. Available on CD, LP and indies only yellow LP.
