Richard Neale
Growth + Decay

Bespectacled producer Richard “Hexagonal Packaging” Neale follows last year’s Eves with new EP Growth + Decay. Though it retains its folky tinges, the spontaneous live instrumentation of Eves largely gives way to digital loops of short phrases, layered and built up into something quite dramatic. As before, mastered by James Plotkin.

EVES

Purveyor of gentle electronica and lover of hexagons Richard Neale presents his new album EVES via the charmingly-named Rain Bear Records. Piano leads layers of weightless vocals and ambient sections throughout these somnolent, folk-tinged numbers. Mastered by the excellent James Plotkin, the CD comes housed in swell die-cut hexagonal packaging.

Deep Blue (part 2)

Richard Neale complements Part 1 with Deep Blue (Part 2), a sweet-feeling set of twinkling melodic pieces for electronics, guitars, vocals and ambience. Small epics. The CD is presented in fancy die cut hexagonal packaging, designed especially for this release. Edition of 100 copies on Rain Bear Records.

ENDS

Quirky folk electronica from English acoustic wizard Richard Neale. Prior to his release of the 'Deep Blue' Eps, Neale released this minimalistic loop odyssey. Hypnotic, trance-inducing experimentalism, building four tracks around a single loop. Inspired by the works of William Baskinski, this comes in a nice hexagon box, for all your weird-shaped packaging needs.

Deep Blue (part 1)

Richard Neale began creating alternative folk music in the early 2000’s which explains why his electronic music has a such a warm, natural, handmade feel. ‘Deep Blue’ is his latest release, the first half of which is a stand alone EP comprising of ten ten tracks that interweave between beat driven tracks and solo piano compositions influenced by the likes of Nils Frahm, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin.
