The Unthanks
Lines - Parts One, Two & Three

Three albums, here presented together in one package, by The Unthanks. Each of these three Lines has a different poetic focus: World War One, Emily Bronte, and a trawler disaster that occured in Hull in 1968. The words sung are from various sources, including the actress Maxine Peake, and Emily Bronte and Siegfried Sassoon poems. All performed in the Unthanks inimitable folk style. Triple 10” vinyl set.

Mount The Air

Dreamy music laced with high vocals, Mount the Air is, as suggested by its title, all about drifting. The Unthanks shift between different dreamy soundscapes with unnerving chord progressions, sticking to their trusty formula of subtle modulation to draw you into a weird, singular and beautiful fantasy.

Diversions Vol. 4: The Songs And Poems Of Molly Drake

Molly Drake was the mother of Nick Drake, and a remarkable songwriter in her own right. Her home recordings were finally released a few years ago, and now The Unthanks are reinterpreting the material for their Diversions series. With Molly’s daughter Gabrielle Drake on board, we even have some never-recorded songs played here, via her memories. LP release on RabbleRouser Music.
