Blown Out
Supernormal 2015 Live Transmissions iii

Blown Out is a heavy assemblage of Newcastle doomsters, taken from bands such as Bong, Drunk In Hell and 11Paranoias. This LP contains the truth about what they did at Supernormal festival in 2015: they blasted out some blackened jams. Live Transmissions iii is released by Evil Hoodoo in a limited edition of 350 vinyl copies.

Blown Out
Sun Rot

Blown Out fans, here’s a chance to reacquaint yourselves with the band’s origins: Sun Rot, their first ever release, is now getting a vinyl reissue, four years and three sold-out cassette runs since Sun Rot’s initial release. The band’s spacey music is already epic here, even through the early lo-fi edges that pleasingly colour the sound. Reissued by Riot Season.

Blown Out / Comacozer
In Search Of Highs Volume 1

Righteous psychers Comacozer and Blown Out are totally on the same wavelength for this latest bong-bubbling split LP on Riot Season. The two bands (from Australia and the UK, respectively) get some trippy scuzz going - one extended, ecstatic jam from Comacozer and several shorter indulgences from Blown Out.

Blown Out
Planetary Engineering

Blown Out is a band featuring members of other bands, all of whom have a sound that could be described as ‘blown out’. Bong, Drunk In Hell and Khunnt are all represented, and the two side-long beasts that comprise Planetary Engineering are as cosmic as you would expect. Heavy sounds for heavy minds, on Oaken Palace Records.

Blown Out
New Cruiser

Wailing psych rockers Blown Out have long been offering you the audio equivalent of what it's like to be inside the belly of a giant space worm. If you've heard 'em before, you know what to expect on New Cruiser: distantly cruising guitar solos being reigned in by a dutiful, ever-still rhythm section. Controlled chaos at its best. And most sprawling.

Blown Out
Superior Venus

Heavyweight psychedelia from Newcastle’s finest, featuring members of BONG, Drunk In Hell, Khunnt and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (I told you they were heavyweight). Blown Out’s album Superior Venus is a two-track punch of dense riffage and space power released in an limited edition of 500 LPs by Riot Season.

Various
Magnetic North

Showcasing some of the north of England’s finest contemporary psych groups, developing on a tried and tested formula with a fresh approach. Spider-webbing Manchester, Chester, Newcastle and Fleetwood with songs by Dead Sea Apes, Vert:X, Blown Out, and Earthling Society. Good to hear what the young bloods are up to.

Dodge Meteor
Dodge Meteor

Dodge Meteor are a two-piece heavy psych outfit with members in Newcastle and Italy. Presumably that means that when they do manage to get together in the same room, they waste no time in getting deep and blasted: this recorded debut is dripping with riff power and thundering drums. Released in a limited edition of 50 purple cassettes by Swap Meat.

Blown Out
Sun Rot

Blown Out emanate from Newcastle, where they drop deep deep out in order to access the cosmic planes needed to blast psych music as morass-thick as this. Sun Rot locks into stoned-head-nod grooves and stays well put, letting the riff-churn do its thing. Cassette release limited to 50 copies, on Swap Meat.

Blown Out
Jet Black Hallucinations

Available on 180 gram vinyl, limited to 500 copies from Golden Mantra. Recorded in Newcastle Dec ‘14, including members from BONG and Khunnt, Blown Out offer a sound that is close to a fugged out Hawkwind. At three tracks spanning 40 minutes, this is a thick and heavy soundtrack to tumble down the rabbit hole.

Blown Out
Drifting Way Out Between Suns

Psychedelic rock that's been blown out of a cannon into the sky, with guitar riffs that sound like Nicolas Cage when he does one of his loud, drawn out groans -- that's an adequate description of BLOWN OUT, the all-caps band made from a variety of other rising heavy guitar zombies, including Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. Here's their new record, 'Drifting Way Out Between Suns'. Jam hard.
