Ocoeur
Inner

Ocoeur is the neo-classical/ambient project from French composer Franck Zaragoza. The name is a play on the French meaning ‘to the heart’. On Inner, his fifth long-player, Zaragoza brings synths to the fore highlighting the ambient passages. However, the usual piano, strings and production are very much in evidence throughout the album. Zaragoza has previously shared the stage with the likes of Fennesz and Uziq, so worth checking out if you’re fans of either. LP and CD on n5MD.

Ocoeur
Reversed

Franck Zaragoza steps out under his Ocoeur moniker for a fourth full-length exploration of the melancholy possibilities of solo piano compositions. I say solo piano: some delicate string arrangements also curl themselves around the edges of Reversed. Released by n5MD on both CD and grey / white vinyl formats.

Ocoeur
A Parallel Life

Glitchy techno artist Frank Zaragoza, going under the alias of Ocoeur, is known for his thoughtful take on IDM, which some might be tempted to call dark ambient. He's in typical form on 'A Parallel Life', weaving bright, emotive melodies through landscapes of IDM found sounds and achingly fractured beats. Kind of like listening to a new strand of neo-classical being filtered through very traditional electronic music -- and when the piano comes in, oh boy.
