Jenny Hval
The Practice of Love

Musical witch lady Jenny Hval is back to cast her sonic hexes ‘pon us once more. Hval’s seventh LP The Practice Of Love is another fine work of modern-day Gothicism from the Norwegian artist, one in which she leans a little heavier into the pop stuff than she has done previously. Julee Cruise, Visions-era Grimes and Chromatics are the related artists you’re grappling with on The Practice Of Love.

Lost Girls
Lost Girls - Expanded Edition

Lost Girls' self-titled debut LP has been a long time coming: the original duo (Kitchen of Distinction's Patrick Fitzgerald and 4AD's Heidi Berry) formed in 1998 as somewhat of a work in progress, wrote some songs and played a handful of live shows. The band soon expanded with the addition of three more members (Ashley Wood, Dave Morgan and Kim Smith) and the material got a collective reworking. Apart from single 'Needle's Eye' being independently released in 1999, the remainder of their recordings were left pretty much untouched, unreleased and subsequently unheard. This 2 CD set contains all of the originally intended album (CD1) a long with bonus material (CD2) so they can finally get the attention they deserve.
