Allah-Las
LAHS

After a solo run out under the name Paint, Pedrum Siadatian returns to the womb that bore him, i.e. Allah-Lahs. LAHS is the band’s fourth album. There’s a palpable togetherness about this album, but their sun-bleached melodies and soft psychedelia remain at their core. On Mexican Summer.

PAINT
PAINT

Paint is the solo project from Allah-las guitarist and singer Pedrum Siadatian. He started to record some of his weirder ideas on a four-track back in 2016 around the time of Allah-las third album, Calico Review. Taking inspiration from Kevin Ayers, Julian Cope, Syd Barrett, R. Stevie Moore and Lou Reed, his ideas have grown into a perfectly imperfect eponymous debut album. LP and CD on Mexican Summer.

Calico Review

Allah-Las dragged themselves off the beaches and palm-tree-lined boulevards of Los Angeles to record this third album of theirs. They did bring that warm, laid-back tone into the studio with them though: Calico Review feels like the kind of summer record you play as the evening starts to settle in. Out on Mexican Summer.

Worship The Sun

Last time out Allah La's had nailed that 60's worshipping garage sound but didn't quite have the songwriting to match. That record sounded totally beautiful though and its a shame to read the studio they used has closed. Still, 'Worship The Sun' still has that authentic West Coast sound that references The Byrds, Love and The Animals and will sit quite happily in the collections of those who have been listening to the retro influenced likes of Temples, Kurt Vile, Tame Impala and, yes, The La's. Their sound is your classic granny-glassed jangle and strum and is as laid back and melodic as any Rain Parade album. Bonus tracks 'Every Girl' and 'No Werewolf' on the CD and digital release; secret track 'Abez Jam' on the LP.
