Lord Of The Isles
DFSANT03

Well within the techno realm lies an approach that uses production as a means to abstraction. The 'DFSANT' series explores this concept, and on the third outing burns the rule book several times over through lofi sound walls, emotionally obscure melodiousness and distinct links to nostalgic electronica.

Lord Of The Isles
DFSANT 02

Here we have the second new and sparkling release -- DFSANT 02, no less -- from Lord Of The Isles, aka Neil McDonald. It follows in the wake of his Firecracker of an LP, 'Parabolas Of Neon' and that initial release on his own DFSANT label. Herein find ye three more chunks of supremely, smoothly worked techno-house. Synths throb through Kosmiche waves and Detroitian vibes. There's even some slow-groovin' acid-disco. Discacid, anyone?

Lord Of The Isles
DFSANT 01

Scottish producer Neil McDonald has released a load of his blend of softened electronica meets the fringes of dancefloor techno and deep house under his Lord Of Isles project through Phonica, ESP Institute, Permanent Vacation, and Mule Musiq. Now he’s taking things in his own hands and not only debting for his new label DFSANT, but is doing the first 12 releases.

Lord Of The Isles
Parabolas Of Neon EP

With its strange and squelching electronic intricacies, the Parabolas Of Neon EP is a ethereal release by Lord Of The Isles that seems to drop in and out of consciousness. The six-track offering is brought to us by Firecracker Records, and feels like an otherworldly journey across the inside of a computer motherboard.

Lord Of The Isles
Greane / Gigha

A couple of lengthy slices of indulgently enjoyable acid here from Scotland's Neil "Lord Of The Isles" McDonald. With the crisp and bright 'Greane' clocking in at ten minutes and the moody synth-string-drone and synth loop shuffle of 'Gigha' at eight, each is a mini-symphony of subtly shifting beats and bright acidy synth loops.
