Delia Derbyshire / Brian Hodgson / David Vorhaus

This will be of fascination to fans of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop as it is a 1969 collaboration between two of their best and brightest and American musician David Vorhaus with whom they then went on to form the ridiculous experimental electronic band White Noise. These tracks were intended as TV production music and many were used on cult 60's programme 'The Tomorrow People'.

Delia Derbyshire and Elsa Stansfield
Circle Of Light – Original Electronic Soundtrack

An absolutely essential purchase for any fans of BBC Radiophonic Orchestra/early day synth, this very rare soundtrack created in 1972 by legendary composer Delia Derbyshire (along with artist Elsa Stansfield) finally gets a re-issue on the ever inquisitive Trunk records. They came up with a mix of sound design, tape manipulation and natural environmental sounds for Anthony Roland's 1972 film about the slides of radical stills photographer Pamela Bone.

Delia Derbyshire / Barry Bermange
Inventions For Radio: The Dreams

Reissue of a spooky classic from Delia Derbyshire, first broadcast on the radio to an unsuspecting public in 1964. The Dreams collages together recordings of people describing their dreams with electronic sound representing the sensations of the dreams. With the technology of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop at her fingertips, Derbyshire creates some pretty special atmospheres here.

Delia Derbyshire

Delia Derbyshire was, of course, as any fool know, one of the major players in the BBC’s legendary Radiophonic Workshop: she authored the Dr Who theme, as well as a huge array of wild experimental library music that still sounds unearthly today. Electronic is apparently not a reissue as such, but a 1990’s release of 1969 material that never actually left the warehouse…? Either way, it’s Derbyshire magic, and you can buy it!

Delia Derbyshire & Anthony Newley
Moogies Bloogies

A truly bizarre lost recording getting unearthed here by the estimable Trunk. Never released before, this is a collaboration between actor and songwriter Anthony Newley, whose best-known compositions include 'Feeling Good', the 'Goldfinger' theme and the score to 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' (recently covered in its entirety by Primus), in a rare electronic setting thanks to the gentle futuristic beepings of none other than BBC Radiophonic legend Delia Derbyshire, who apparently didn't like the results at the time but grew fonder of it later in life.

The Delian Mode

Delia Derbyshire is the undisputed queen of experimental electronics. Her work with the Radiophonic Workshop was nothing short of pioneering and of course her best known work is the Dr Who theme which literally everybody on the planet likes. That's how genius it is. Here's a 7" by her which is expensive yet sexy. It features two tracks, one of which was written for a TV documentary in 1967 and it features Delias voice and a green lampshade.Anything goes in Radiophonic world! Those crazy cats!
