The Seduction Of Kansas

Priests made a big impression with their 2017 debut Nothing Feels Natural. The Washington DC post-punk band are back with their sophomore effort The Seduction Of Kansas. Here they added the influence of Massive Attack, Portishead and Nine Inch Nails to their post-punk base-layer. The result is a band with a more rounded sound. LP and CD on Sister Polygon.

Early Recordings

Priests, who are not priests, put their first recordings out on limited-run cassettes that were only sold at shows, but it has been decided that this music deserved a wider reception. So here comes a reissue of those first two tapes, the first of which was recorded only one week into Priests’ existence! Early Recordings is released in a limited edition of 100 vinyl LPs. On Tough Love.

Nothing Feels Natural

Mates with sick punks like Downtown Boys and Sneaks, the debut album from Washington D.C.’s Priests occupies a neat space between The Julie Ruin and early My Bloody Valentine. ‘Pink White House’ is a jolly romp of stick-it-to-the-man-ness that also manages to reference a fair whack of canonic post-punk records, and there is plenty of shape-shifting across the record as they take in everything from desert rock to hardcore. Very cool.
