Ice Exposure

Jac Berrocal, David Fenech and Vincent Epplay return to Blackest Ever Black (Carla Dal Forno, John T. Gast) with the follow-up to their 2015 LP Antigravity. On Ice Exposure (great title) the trio come up with a sort of Gothic jazz style that is as cold as the record’s name. Imagine if The Birthday Party had ever allowed themselves to become untethered from pop song structures and cast off into the deep. Scott Walker’s late period also springs to mind.

La Nuit est au Courant

Made available on vinyl for the first time, Souffle Continu reissue La Nuit est au Courant by avantgarde trumpeter Jac Berrocal who has collaborated with Nurse With Wound, and been released on Blackest Ever Black. With free-jazz and improvisation at it’s heart Berrocal plays with two bassists as well as some electronics and effects with a sole aim of complete freedom of expression. Why

Jac Berrocal, David Fenech and Vincent Epplay’s wild and unusual trio have three new pieces for you to gaze curiously at. Why is a burst of woozy-weird art-rock built out of flaring electronics, lurching rhythms and Berrocal’s wildman vocals. Intriguing 7” single, limited to just 300 copies on Blackest Ever Black.

Antigravity

Available on 12” vinyl LP with full colour reverse board sleeve and printed inner bag or CD, on Blackest Ever Black. To help Blackest Ever Black raise the bar yet again they’ve brought in french avantgard trumpeter Jac Berrocal. Sucking you into his film-noir Dale cooper/Bohren und der Club of Gore musique contréte world. Dark and twistedly romantic, his trumpets swirls into an almost 8-bit like crunching.
