Hasta El Cielo (Con Todo El Mundo in Dub)

After 2018's Con Todo El Mundo blew everyone's collective mind, Khruangbin have turned to legendary dub producer Scientist to freeze that album's tracks in time. Doing this has enabled the band to find the spaces in their music, and make them wide screen. Hasta El Cielo offers a different perspective on the band's psych sound.

Christmas Time Is Here

Two versions presented on this festive 7”.

Maribou State feat. Khruangbin
Feel Good

Khruangbin and Maribou State makes sense. It’s a sort of Lovebox Festival rendering of the King Krule/Mount Kimbie paradigm. ‘Feel Good’, which features a choppy vocal sample bobbing along in a river of playlistable psych-pop, is very much par for the course. This release also comes with a re-pressing of both the original and club versions of MS’s recent single ‘Turnmills’.

The Universe Smiles Upon You

Despite operating out of Texas, Khruangbin are deeply influenced by Thai music, specifically the Thai funk of the 1960’s. If you aren’t familiar with the genre’s sound, prepare to be impressed with the grooving joy it fills you with! The Universe Smiles Upon You, the band’s debut, is on Late Night Tales, pressed to CD or white vinyl.

People Everywhere (Still Alive)

Chilled out folks Khruangbin create an extended version of 'People Everywhere' from their recent album The Universe Smiles Upon You. It says here that it's the perfect soundtrack to a beach festival sunrise. Just imagine. Overleaf there is a dub version too. The perfect soundtrack to not getting stressed on Record Store Day. Comes with lazer cut art stencil.

Khruangbin
The Infamous Bill

Texan three-piece Khruangbin (which translates literally to in "Engine Fly" in Thai) have a second single out on Late Night Tales showcasing their free and easy style. Influenced by '60s Thai funk but through a lens of American surf and slacker psych, this lot have a loose and charming instrumental style with tangy Eastern-influenced electric guitar and warm rhythm section grooves.

A Calf Born In Winter

Getting you safely home this winter with Khruangbin. A Calf Born In Winter are two calming jams from this trio of Texans. The title track is a country/gospel influenced jam, making the most out of a simplistic groove with some soothing guitar noodling. On the flip they have funked it out with some Hendrix inspired wah wah guitar and a deeper and tighter back beat. Out on 7" vinyl from Late Night Tales.

Khruangbin
A Calf Born In Winter (white vinyl)

Maybe the name Khruangbin, in combination with A Calf Born in Winter, sounds like a 20 minute Norwegian death metal painfest. But it isn't. This Texan trio have released one of the chillest, most laid-back pieces this side of the late '60s Thai Funk that inspired them. One of those 7"s you'll just play over and over again.
