Blowback: Season One - Episode 1&2

Please enjoy these bizarre DIY television adventures, courtesy of Luke Wyatt / Torn Hawk. Blowback takes 9/11 as a starting point and then goes into all kinds of bizarre territory. I can’t really explain it to you, and probably neither could the makers. Wild stuff! This DVD features the first 2 episodes of the first series of Blowback.

Torn Hawk
Union and Return

Torn Hawk is the project of Luke Wyatt, who is responsible for every single sound on this record. Union and Return sounds quite a lot like video game music to these ears: possible to accompany an adventure set in the digitally rendered sky-city of the cover art? Either way, it’s an atmospheric listen. Released by Mexican Summer.

Torn Hawk
Let's Cry And Do Pushups At The Same Time

Audio-visual gloomer Luke Wyatt likes to go under the name Torn Hawk, where he makes bitty electronica on proudly primitive equipment, with a bit of processed live guitar work thrown in for good measure. 'Let's Cry And Do Pushups At The Same Time' doesn't quite sum up the modestly beautiful electro-compositions he puts forward here, which feel more serious than they are playful.

Torn Hawk
We Burnt Time

Luke Wyatt shows some love for the confounding genius of Torn Hawk by releasing his music as the inaugural record on his new label, Valcrond Video. Disjointed segments of guitar and programmed drums come together to fall apart on We Burnt Time -- a title that's fitting for an artist who shows off the beauty in destruction.
