Mutual Benefit
Just Another Diamond Day

For reasons best known to themselves Sufjan -lite indie folkers Mutual Benefit have covered Vashti Bunyan's Just Another Diamond Day in its entirety. Jordan Lee must either like the album a lot or see the mutual benefit in getting on board with a record that has become an essential album for bearded post folk hipsters to waffle on about.

Mutual Benefit
Thunder Follows The Light

In his Mutual Benefit guise, NYC singer-songwriter Jordan Lee has recorded with artists like Julie Byrne and covered Vashti Bunyan’s Just Another Diamond Day in full. Safe to say that you can go into his latest full-length Thunder Follows The Light expecting a light touch. Lee weaves ten spare, spectral pieces here, lightly dappling his time-worn voice-and-guitar combo with synths and orchestral instruments in a manner that recalls Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie And Lowell.

Mutual Benefit
Skip a Sinking Stone

Mutual Benefit is Jordan Lee’s self-reflexive solo indie-pop project, and Skip a Sinking Stone is his second record. The album can be thematically divided into 2 parts: 1 nomadic, 1 grounded, but both presenting their own problems. Jordan gets it all accross with sensitive arrangements, strings, and his own plaintive vocals. On Transgressive.

The Cowboy's Prayer

This digitally remastered reissue of 2011's 'Cowboy's Prayer' was previously only available as a download. Now, with a new album due and a substantial tour of the US, Canada and the UK in the pipeline, Boston-based Jordan Lee and his ever-changing gaggle of backing musicians release their debut EP on vinyl and CD. Lyrically rich, this record deals with global warming and changing landscapes, to a shimmering backdrop of warm, fuzzy and slightly surreal pop.
