DJ Krush Vinyl, CD & tapes from this artist at Norman Records
DJ Krush -- pioneering hip-hop DJ and producer -- is back! Famed for his abstract-leaning contributions to the legendary Mo'Wax roster during the trip-hop heyday of the 1990s, his latest album Cosmic Yard (Special Edition) arrives as a 12-track LP or CD on Gamma Proforma. The keys are woozy and informed by classic Sci-Fi movies, the beats as eerily abstract as you'd imagine. Extra compositional and trumpet duties performed by Toshinori Kondo.
A pretty big collection of music on this release from DJ Krush who commemorates his twenty-fifth anniversary with a release entitled Kiseki. Pretty standard from the Japanese DJ as he continues down the path of dark rap and fierce soundscapes that ignites the two vinyls like the fire he clearly sits in when writing his music. Available on vinyl double LP on Gamma Proforma.
'Jaku' was originally released in 2004 and became something of a legendary record in the field of instrumental hip hop. The man behind it all, DJ Krush, worked in hip hop for years and has worked a slew of music related jobs; the result is a musician who can ruthlessly collage sounds together. Krush is in good company, here, with vocal contributions from rappers such as Mr. Lif and the tongue-twister himself, Aesop Rock. 'Jaku' sees reissue from Music On Vinyl.
