Knxwledge continues to throw down the gauntlet to beatmakers the world over. This new Stones Throw 7” splits neatly down the middle. Side A sees the LA producer partner with Traffic on ‘Relapse’, a smooth-as-hell tune that sounds like Michael Jackson’s ‘Rock With You’ after a couple of Valium. Flip the record over and we get five short, sweet beats. GladWeMet is another feather in the cap for Knxwledge.
Collaborative project of California based duo Anderson Paak and Knxwledge. Having individually worked with Kaytranada, Dr Dre, Kendrick Lamar, and Joey Bada$$ they a have found a rightful home at Stones Throw. NxWorries is soulful and filled with slow, smooth R&B groove, solid layered vocals, and crackling beats from crate digging finds.
- Vinyl Double LP (STH2370LP)
Fresh new beats from Knxwledge, making his debut with Stones Throw Records. Hud Dreems emerges, naturally enough, from the Low End Theory LA scene, and the 26 tracks of soulful and grooving instrumental hip-hop heard here are enough to make the producer stand up from a busy and highly talented field. Double LP.

A welcome vinyl pressing for these strong selections from Knxwledge’s WrapTaypes beat-tape series. Over a full 26 tracks, Knxwledge proves that he can really work his set-up, dropping tight samples into humid beats, with smoky flows rolling atop many of these numbers. Double LP release on the All City label.
The lineage of these tracks is a long one. Knxwledge produced and distributed these 53(!) pieces on bandcamp between 2009 and 2013, then bounced them down to a double cassette mixtape release. Now the prestige edition of Anthology: double gatefold vinyl. Excellent and inventive hip-hop beat tracks, out on Leaving Records.
