Anthony Naples
Fog FM

New York producer and co-owner of Incensio and Proibito Anthony Naples issues a ghostly, imaginary radio transmission of house music through a filter of “fluorescent static”. Mechanically stored and reproduced culture is increasingly timeless and intra-referential: it’s this into which Naples seems to tap with his warm, era-spanning frequencies.

Anthony Naples
Take Me With You

NYC clubster Anthony Naples drops his sophomore LP. Take Me With You was originally conceived a mixtape for Naples to share among friends, a dedication to the parties and after-parties they had had together down the years. As such, it’s no surprise to find that there is a rose-tinted, halcyon quality to many of the numbers here that nods to The Orb. It’s a very lovely listen.

Anthony Naples
OTT / ZTL

Delightfully sparse press info about this one tells you all you really need to know: Anthony Naples has done a new 12 and there's 2 songs on it. Keeping it simple with both the context and that red circle artwork, you'd do well to expect the usual grit-glam of his music, a destitute dance for one and for all. He's been surprising here and there lately, with tracks stretched and hinting at house, but whatever the case it'll surely be good.

Anthony Naples
Smacks

Anthony Naples follows up this year’s debut full-length for Kieran Hebden’s Text label (Body Pill) with a sharp EP of adventurous new tracks, this time back on his own Proibito label. These tracks (especially ‘Bonobo’) spiral down deep, creating a slick hypnotic vortex for the dancefloor to fall into. Smacks is pressed to 12” vinyl.

Anthony Naples
Us Mix

Anthony Naples runs the Proibito label, but he hasn’t released his own material via that avenue since 2015. With Us Mix, he redresses the balance with a triumphant return, with four sweet n’ groovy slices of dancefloor goodness. The vibe is happy and lively and melodic: you immediately know you are in the hands of a pro. 12” EP.

Anthony Naples
Body Pill

The first full length album from NYC’s darling of the latest scene Anthony Naples and it’s a cracker. Body Pill is released on Four Tet’s Text Records. Laid back deconstructed melodies  with elegant strings and a damn catchy beat - touches of Todd Terje’s love of synthetic sounds that add a certain frisson to the tracks. Vinyl.

Anthony Naples
Slice Of Life

Anthony Naples provides some tasty goods via The Trilogy Tapes label. The two tracks on Slice Of Life, ‘Lekker’ and ‘Momentos Mágicos’, aren’t in any hurry to get anywhere: they simply settle into some warm grooves and keep on working it. Gorgeous luxury house music, plenty to enjoy here. 12” on The Trilogy Tapes.

Anthony Naples
Zipacon

This American producer has been a quick-blooming success story over the past few years with five releases alternating between techno influenced houses releases and some full-on Chicago house stuff.  'Zipacon' see-saws between tough patterns and smoother spans of vaporous house showcasing synth motifs, for scratchier, static-filled joints, retro grainy house tracks and even distorted guitar riffs on 'Crazy Spirit'. The tracks are anthemic and dancefloor-ready.    Naples has a consistency in his compositions that is commendable, he never repeats himself and over the course of this EP comes up with fresh takes withing the genre he works within.

Anthony Naples
P O T

Following on from hot releases on Trilogy Tapes and Mister Saturday Night Records, producer Anthony Naples sends out two new bangers from the heart of the NYC metropolis. P O T mixes up an irresistible kick drum with intertwining vocal loops to create a pair of peak-hour DJ tools. 12” on Proibito.

Anthony Naples
Moscato

Is he from Napoli? Does he just really like ham on his pizza? I think that’s what a napolitana is anyway. Or he is just renowned for his Italian smoothness? Presumably all of the above, Anthony Naples is back with his sophomore release, Moscato, featuring title tracks Moscato and Moscato. Enjoy.
