Mozart's Sister
Field of Love

Mozart’s Sister is Caila Thompson-Hannant’s solo musical project, and the core idea she had for it is that everything should be fun. Now, that doesn’t mean that everything has to be technicolour and explosive, just that Field Of Love welcomes in all listeners and puts smiles on their faces. It is indeed a good-times record. Out on Arbutus Records.

Mozart's Sister

Mozart's Sister is the moniker of gleeful synth pop songwriter Caila Thompson-Hannant, who's been active making EPs for three years now. Last year, she released 'Hello', a 12" EP with four sparkling, slightly debased tracks which showed off her various musical personalities: from the smirking groove of "Contentedness" to the super melodramatic pop of "Single Status". 'Being' is her debut record. Thompson-Hannant cites Daft Punk and Bjork as major influences over these songs and their disjointed pop hooks. Sufjan Stevens' label, Asthmatic Kitty, releases this one, because of course. The synth is very bright indeed.   Tracks: Good Thing Bad Thing Enjoy Faif Lone Wolf A Move Bow A Kiss Salty Tear Do It To Myself (Run Run) Don’t Leave It To Me My House Is Wild Chained Together
