Michael Price
Eternal Beauty (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Here we have a blue marbled-vinyl issue of Michael Price’s stunning soundtrack for Craig Roberts’ 2019 dark comedy 'Eternal Beauty', starring Sally Hawkins, Alice Lowe and David Thewlis. A masterful exhibition of sound design making use of soaring string figures and isolated piano, Price’s music renders Hawkins’ character’s story arc with great beauty.

Tender Symmetry

Amazingly ambitious release from Sherlock composer Michael Price. Tender Symmetry not only takes the history of England as its inspiration, but is in many way a document of them. Price actually took him ensembles to each location, sparring with their acoustic properties, to capture their sonic characteristics. Part of the ensembles are Grace Davidson who sang on Max Richter's equally ambitious Sleep, and Shards who sang on Nils Frahm's All Melody.

Entanglement

This is the first album proper from Michael Price, composer of the music to the BBC’s ‘Sherlock’. The list of recording media used on Entanglement reportedly includes mobile phone, vintage microphones, and 1940s magnetic recording device: Price is very much interested in the context these media impart on the sound. On the Erased Tapes label.
